ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

1. How may I obtain a library card?

Come to the library and ask for a Bucks County Free Library card application form, or download an application here. Bring one form of ID with your current home address (driver's license, lease, utility bill). Children under 16 must have their forms signed by a parent or legal guardian.

If you are a Pennsylvania resident living outside of Bucks County (e.g. Raubsville or Easton in Northampton County, etc.), you must also show a current card from your home library - validated with a blue Access PA sticker - to get a Bucks County Free Library card.

Bucks County Free Library cards are free to Pennsylvania residents. New Jersey residents may purchase a Bucks County Free Library card for $35.00 per year.

Bucks County Free Library cards can be used at Riegelsville or any of the other Bucks County Public Libraries. Read more about library cards here.

2. How long may I borrow library materials?

Books, magazines, audiobooks, music CDs:  3 weeks

DVDs, videotapes:  1 week

3. I want to renew my library materials.

Come to the library and renew them in person.

Call the library at (610) 749-2357 and renew them by telephone.

Renew them online at www.buckslib.org in the My Account section.  You will need your user ID (your library card barcode number - Bxxxxxxx) and four-digit PIN to log in. If you forget your PIN, consult the librarian.

4. My library materials are late! How much are the fines? Do you take credit cards?

Fines are calculated at a per-day rate for every day the library is open.

- Books, audiobooks, magazines, music CDs:  25 cents per day

- DVDs, videotapes:  $1.00 per day

If the item is damaged or lost, you will be billed for the cost of replacing it. Parents are responsible for all fines for their children's library materials.

The Riegelsville Public Library accepts cash, all major credits cards, personal checks, and money orders.

5. I want to return my books, but the library is closed!

Use the book drop by the back door of the library building (adjacent to the parking lot).  Please note: the book drop is for library materials only. For book donations (see below), use the black bin inside the main library entrance.

You can also return your Riegelsville Public Library books at any of the other Bucks County Free Libraries.

6. There's no card catalog!  How can I find out what's available at the library?

The Riegelsville Public Library catalog is available online within the library or from your home computer.

Anyone can search the catalog to see what's available at Riegelsville or any of the other Bucks County libraries.  If you're a Bucks County Free Library cardholder, you can use your library card user ID and PIN to place holds on books, download audiobooks and e-books, renew your library materials, and check your library account.

7. The item I want isn't available at the Riegelsville Library. Can you get it for me?
