Frequently Asked Questions How do I get a library card? Stop by the library and complete an application form with your signature. Children under the age of 16 must have a guardian’s signature. If you are from another county in PA, you must first obtain a library card from your service area library. You'll find an Access PA sticker on the card that allows you to search for books on the PA online database of all library holdings. All you need to do is present the card to the librarian at the Riegelsville Public Library and you'll be issued a Bucks County library card. New Jersey patrons may also receive a Bucks County library card for a $10 per year fee. What are the amounts of fines? Fines are based on a fee for each day we are open. The Riegelsville Public Library is open three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The per day fees are as follows: Books, Magazines, Audio books, CDs - .20¢ per Videos, DVDs - $1.00 For each day we are open What are the loan periods for materials? Books, audio books, magazines, CDs – 3 weeks New Fiction books – 2 weeks Videos and DVDs – 1 week Where is the library located? The Riegelsville Public Library is located at 615 Easton Road, on the 2nd floor of the Borough Building. Northbound: Follow Rte. 611 N to the only stop light in Riegelsville. Turn left onto Delaware Road, up a steep hill. At the crest of the hill make a right onto Church Road. We're the second parking lot (Borough Building) on the right. There are two ways to renew your library books: You may bring your books to the library to have them physically renewed. OR Renew your books electronically from the comfort of your own home. The first step is to visit the library to request a PIN number from the librarian. Unfortunately, this can’t be done by phone. You’ll then be provided with a computer-generated PIN number that you may change, once you’ve logged on to MY ACCOUNT at www.buckslib.org. You will then be able to renew your books twice, under MY ACCOUNT, as long as there are no fines or overdue materials. How do I become a Board Member? Contact the library at 610-749-2357 and let us know that you are interested in becoming a board member. Open positions are advertised in the library, borough hall, newsletters, our web site and announcements in the post office. Board members serve a three-year term. There are nine board members from Riegelsville and two from Durham Township. Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month. How do I become a Friend of the Library? This group provides support for the community library through fundraising activities. There are four major meetings a year and the membership fee is $5.00 a year. It's a great opportunity to meet community members and have a social connection. Call the Library at 610-749-2357 for more information. What other activities occur at the library? Please see our "Library Events" page for a complete listing. How is the library funded? State and municipal funding is received from Riegelsville Borough and Durham Township. Grants, a yearly library fair, book sales, donations and various fundraising activities round out our support network. How do I donate books? You may drop off book donations at the Riegelsville borough hall. Place your book donations in the bin at the bottom of the library stairs. We accept: All donations of Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children’s books, Videos, DVD’s, Audio books and Books on CD. We are unable to accept: Readers Digest Condensed Books Encyclopedias Magazines Text Books Moldy or Dirty books We may include some of these book donations in the library collection. Others will be offered for sale at our two annual fundraising book sales (May & November). How can I volunteer to help my community library? Volunteers are always needed at our fundraising events. Maybe you're interesting in helping us prepare for fundraising events, help with marketing or just like to bake.
